The Dawn of Love
by Da Vinci
Oh, workaday world
I've joined you as I should.
My studies and my firm pursuits have brought me
well reknown and merits clearly understood.
The friends and foes of each long day
I've met with peace and due respect,
and those unknown who cross my path,
each soul a thought, considered and direct.
But now, great world, let me kiss my love in peace.
Do not disrupt this sweet desire.
Let me watch her body, dancing as it lays so still,
dancing in the candles fire.
I'll watch you as you fall asleep my love,
a smile remains upon your lips.
A peaceful rest I would not dare disturb,
my eyes become my finger tips........
The shadows now caress you,
slipping over each angelic line,
brushing soft against a golden glow,
defining truth, the dawn of yours and mine.
This new horizon weaves and wanders on your blissful curves
here, in the flickering candle light.
An image of a world unborn, so far unseen,
filled with truth and passion just beyond my sight.
Oh, my love, sleep easy,
as my eyes seek comfort pacing gently 'cross your breast,
I'll lay beside you, 'til our morning comes,
and then, and only then my heart shall rest.
Peace and Love, DaVinci
